Disneyland Magic Key tickets resume sales.

Attention Disneyland fans, the news you have been waiting for is finally here. Disneyland announced earlier today that they will resume sales of their annual passes, which are called Magic Keys, and the sales will resume tomorrow, April 11, 2023.

This is huge news if you have been waiting for an annual pass to the California theme parks, but if you want to make sure you snag keys, you will want to act fast.

During the Covid-19 closure of the Disneyland Resort, Disney canceled all annual passes at the time. Several months after reopening, the company announced a new annual pass program with the passes now being called Magic Keys. When the keys first went on sale, they were all available to purchase, and there were several levels to choose from, with different blackout dates and perks included depending on the pass type.

Eventually, Disney stopped the sales of all of their Magic Key passes, and since then, there have only been a few times that the keys have gone on sale. Each time, the passes sold out quickly, and each time, not all of the pass types were available.

Tomorrow, April 11, Disney will offer all 4 pass types for sale, but just like in previous experiences of these key sales, we can expect a few things.

    1. We can expect long wait times on the Disneyland site in order to purchase the keys. Guests have been known to wait for hours in an online queue in order to have the opportunity to buy keys.
    2. We can expect that some if not all of the key types will sell out quickly. That might mean minutes, hours or days, but we’d be surprised if there are still keys available on the 12th.

If you’re interested in buying Magic Keys, it’s a good idea to know which kind of key you want to buy before they go on sale. Here’s a rundown of the four key types.

Inspire Key

This is the premium Magic Key. It’s the most expensive at $1,599, and it has the fewest blackout dates. Only the holiday season in blocked off from December 20, 2023, through January 2, 2024.

Perks include the ability to hold 6 theme park reservations at one time, up to 15% off dining, up to 20% off merchandise, and 20% off Genie+. In addition, Photopass and parking are included.

Believe Key

This key costs $1,099, but it has more blackout dates than the Inspire Key. In addition to the holiday season being blocked off, there are many weekend days in July, September and October that are also blocked off. Like the Inspire Key, Believe Key holders can hold up to 6 reservations at a time, and Photopass is included; however, parking is not included. Instead, Believe Key holders get a 50% discount on parking. Other discounts include up to 10% off dining and merchandise purchases and 20% off Genie+.

Enchant Key

This key costs $699 and has even more blackout dates. Almost all of June, July and December are blocked off as well as multiple weekend days throughout the year. Believe Key holders can hold up to 4 park reservations at one time. Discounts include up to 10% off dining and merchandise,  20% off Genie+ and 25% off parking in the Toy Story Lot.

Imagine Key

This is the least expensive key at $449, and it is only available for sale to Southern California residents who live in zip codes ranging from 90000 to 93599. This key also has the most blackout dates. No weekend days are available, and June, July, August and December are almost if not all completely blocked off. Key holders can hold 2 reservations at a time, and like with the Enchant Key, discounts include up to 10% off dining and merchandise, 20% off Genie+ and 25% off parking in the Toy Story Lot.
