Universal Studios Hollywood sign from the street

Universal Studios Hollywood parking is not cheap. General parking for the day is $30. Preferred parking is $50. And Front gate parking is $70 if you enter the parking garage before 5pm. After 5pm, the prices go down to $10 for general parking and $20 for preferred parking, but what if you just want to have lunch at CityWalk and look in the stores for a few hours? Do you really have to pay $30 just to park your car??? No, you don’t.

Today I’m going to share two money saving parking hacks with you on-site at Universal Studios Hollywood, but I’ll also share other parking options near Universal Studios Hollywood that can save you even more money.

One on-site parking hack is to park at valet parking. I know that seems counterintuitive, but during the day, valet parking is less expensive than general parking if you’re only going to be there for a couple hours. With validation from a sit-down restaurant at CityWalk, you can valet park your car for up to 2 and a half hours for just $10.

CityWalk has many great dining options, so it’s not hard to find a place to stop for lunch and get your parking validated! Once you valet park your car, you will be just steps from CityWalk, really close to the movie theater and the newest restaurant, Toothsome Chocolate Emporium. Check out the video below to see the delicious menu options at Toothsome and to see the quirky steampunk decor!
Want to spend even less than $10 for Universal Studios Hollywood parking? You have two options. For just $3, you can park at Universal City’s park and ride lot. It’s located off of Lankershim Blvd, right across the street from one of the main entrances to Universal Studios Hollywood. After parking your car, cross the street and walk over to the tall building with the Comcast Universal sign on top. There’s a shuttle stop right in front of the building that will take you up to CityWalk for free.
If you want to park your car for free (and I mean, who wouldn’t want to park their car for free?), you have two options. Watch the video below for an overview of where to valet park your car, where to find the park and ride lot at Universal City AND the two ways you can park your car for free at Universal Studios Hollywood – one is an on-site option!
