new musical called Rogers: The Musical coming to the Disney California Adventure Park at the Disneyland Resort

Ever since the Disneyland Resort reopened in 2021 following the Covid-19 shutdown in 2020, the Hyperion Theater in the Disney California Adventure Park has been vacant. The theater used to be the home to Broadway-style shows like Aladdin and later Frozen. Now, we finally know the new musical that will call the Hyperion Theater home.

The name of the new musical is “Rogers: The Musical.” The approximately 30 minute musical will tell the story of Captain America, whose real name is Steve Rogers. Fans of the show “Hawkeye” on Disney+ have already seen a glimpse of what this musical is all about.

In the first episode of “Hawkeye,” there was a Broadway musical theater sequence about Rogers. Now, the fictional musical is being brought to reality specifically for theme park guests.

While the Hyperion Theater is located in the Hollywoodland part of the Disney California Adventure Park, it is adjacent to the theme park’s newest land, Avengers Campus. That makes it an ideal location for a new Avengers themed musical.

Disney has not yet announced how long the musical will be available for viewing, but they have announced an opening date. The first performance is set for June 30, 2023, making it officially part of the Disney100 celebration.

The musical will include a total of 7 songs including five brand new songs written just for this new musical. In addition, it will also include the song “Save the City” which was featured in the show “Hawkeye,” and it will include the song “Star Spangled Man” which was featured in the movie “Captain America: The First Avenger.”

If you’re planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort, you’ll want to make a reservation for the Disney California Adventure Park on a Tuesday – Saturday if you’re hoping to watch “Rogers: The Musical.” At this time, there will not be performances of the show on Sundays or Mondays.
